WHAT HAPPENEd…

***TRIGGER WARNING***

Three beloved friends of House of Ease need our support handling legal fees associated with a violent attack at the hands of a former friend and lawyer for the City of Baltimore.

  • On the evening of Friday, June 12th two queer Black women and a queer Black man were reunited in Baltimore and happily catching up.

  • This quickly ended when, unannounced and uninvited this cis-het and, frankly, chauvinistic, man interrupted their reunion, entered the home and proceeded to assault and terrorize them.

  • Upon entry he physically assaulted one of them, destroyed the property of the other, while a third hid in the bathroom and called the police.

This man has a history of violent abuse towards all three of them including, but not limited to, years of domestic violence including physical, mental and emotional abuse of one, the unprosecuted rape of another and twice physically assaulting the third. He has also abused countless other women and queer people and owns at least two firearms.

As aforementioned, this man is a lawyer for the City of Baltimore and wields power daily determining who upholds the law and who breaks it while living a double life behind closed doors where he preys on, abuses and attacks people without any recompense.

On that night he attempted to steal peace and community from our friends. This is indicative of a larger societal issue of seemingly “powerful” cis-het men showing a respectable face in public while behaving with sadistic abandon in private towards those they deem “powerless”.

No more. Help us be “The Fence” for our friends. We can lovingly provide safety and security, show our collective power and bring this type of patriarchal abuse to an end.
